Caring for the Body, Mind, and Everyday Life of Women Facing Gynecological Cancers
Our comprehensive approach combines faith, genuine understanding, and practical support to walk alongside you when you need us most.
At the Delarin Longe Foundation, we provide support for women facing gynecological cancers in Nigeria because we believe healing extends beyond medical treatment. Our approach recognises that every woman navigating health challenges deserves comprehensive support that addresses not just her physical needs, but her emotional, spiritual, and practical concerns as well. Guided by our Christian faith and shaped by our experience of what the cancer journey is like, we've developed a structured yet compassionate framework that places you at the heart of everything we do. Our goal isn't just to supplement your medical care; it's to ensure you never feel alone, overlooked, or without hope.
Our Core Pillars
Supplementing Medication Costs
The truth is, cancer treatment and management comes at a high cost. And we’re not just talking about the big treatments like chemotherapy or radiation, which often get the most attention and resources. We’re talking about all the other medications you need just to get through each day: the anti-nausea pills, the pain management, and the supplements your body desperately needs. These “smaller” costs add up fast, and they’re often the ones you’re expected to handle on your own. We’ve seen too many women face impossible choices: Do I buy this medication or pay the electricity bill? Do I get what I need to feel human today, or save that money for my family? You shouldn’t have to make those choices—and with us, you won’t face them alone. That’s why our medication support program focuses on essential daily medications: the ones that help manage symptoms, ease discomfort, and provide comfort and relief throughout the cancer journey.
Your comfort and quality of life matters. And you shouldn’t have to suffer in silence because you can’t afford relief.
Preventive Education and Awareness
We’ve seen what happens when women wait too long to get checked and honestly, it breaks our hearts. Too many of us push aside that nagging concern, that unusual symptom, telling ourselves “it’s probably nothing” or “I can’t afford to find out right now.” We get it. We’ve been there. But here’s what we know: catching things early can literally be the difference between a treatable condition and a life-altering diagnosis.
That’s why we’re passionate about our “the earlier the better” approach. We don’t just hand out pamphlets; we have real, judgment-free conversations with women in our communities. We’re breaking down the scary medical jargon into language that makes sense. We’re addressing the real reasons women hesitate to seek help: the costs, the fear, the “what if” questions that keep you up at night.
Our awareness campaigns aren’t about scaring anyone into action. They’re about empowering you with knowledge, normalizing conversations about women’s health, and making sure every woman knows the warning signs and feels confident advocating for herself. Your health matters; you have the right to understand it..
Patient-Centered Care
You’re not just another case file or medical record to us. You’re a whole person, with hopes, responsibilities, aspirations, and dreams that don’t stop because of cancer.
Everything we do begins with a simple question: “How can we make life easier for you?
Our decisions aren’t made in boardrooms by people who don’t understand what it’s like to go through the journey of cancer treatment and management.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
